MTN Town Tunez

Approach

Who doesn’t want to celebrate their home town in all its glory? In 2014, Metropolitan Republic repositioned MTN's advertising for the caller tunez service by challenging Addmaya to create caricatures celebrating Uganda’s major sub-regions. We conceived, designed and animated 5 iconic characters. Each caricature was carefully designed to exaggerate attributes that characterise his/her home town. Our animators had to step-up their dancing game as the commercials featured the caricatures dancing to funky signature caller tunes. The most memorable project highlight saw the Metropolitan Art Director, Xavier Kirabira dance out the central animation to better director our animators. The project rolled out to the streets of Kampala and on national TV with great acclaim.
